Detailed description of Baywood Golf Club

Baywood Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Baywood Golf Club first opened for play in 1990. The course was designed by Stewart Gooden. The course was closed for renovation for a short while and reopened on August 23, 2003 with new and improved.

Baywood Golf Club is a par-72 layout that plays to 6,763 yards from the back tees for a course rating of 71.59 and a slope rating of 120.

Gold tees: 6,763 yards, 71.9/120.

Blue tees: 6,195 yards, 69.2/113.

White tees: 5,886 yards, 67.8/110.

Red tees: 5,147 yards, 68.6/111.

The rates range from a low of nine dollars to walk nine holes during the week, to thirty four dollars to ride eighteen on the weekends.

# 1 opens with water running along the entire right hand side and back of the hole. This 390-yard hole is not tricky and presents few obstacles other than a fairway bunker. As you check the birdhouses for yardage, you will find yourself enjoying the course more and more.

# 4 is a 510-yard par 5. The hole is clear to about 150-yards from the tee when water strts coming in on the left hand side. Your ability to play around the water is important as this hole's tee shot placement determines your success. Once the water is out of the way, the hole remains difficult with an hourglass green that is tough to get up and down on. This hole should be played with caution.

#6 is a 411-yard par 4. This hole is similar to ones before in that it features water running along the side of the fairway that forces you to be careful with your tee shot. The fairway itself is flat and long and is sidelined by the driving range. The raised small green will prove troublesome for some.

# 8 is a par 5 that plays to 501 yards. # 8 has a fairway that turns left into a mid-sized green.

# 10 is a par 4, 432-yards hole that plays slightly to the left. Water on the right hand side of the hole, at about 100 yards from the hole, will make for hard approach shots.

# 11 is the number one handicap on the course and it is a par 5 that measures 541-yards.

# 14 is a par 3 that plays to 165-yard. The hole's difficulty is directly related to the pin placement. The green is elevated about 10 to 20 feet higher than the tee. For those who are not able to control their irons; a chip onto this green to try and save par is not an easy task. There are bunkers on the right and left sides and the green undulates in places that you do not think is possible. This is a hole where you will either feast or famine.

#15 can be played a thousand different ways and produce varied results each time. The par 5 is 536-yards in length and a flat straight fairway invites you to get all the distance you can. A row of bushes separates this hole from number four. If you did not get enough distance out of your tee shot, you are left with a fairway that turns hard to the left.

# 17 challenges you with an uphill carry of 170-yards into a green that is surrounded by water. The island green is made harder by the hard slope on the back of the green that goes directly into the water hazard. Any poor shot off the back of the green or short of the green will face a watery grave.

With its various water hazards and beautiful fairways, this course will be a challenge to your game and a pleasure to your eye.
